Arrow Lake Escape provides lakeside accommodation to visitors who want a relaxing vacation in Nakusp, British Columbia. We are located on 4 acres of forested property with breathtaking views of the Arrow Lakes and the surrounding mountains.
We have a unique facility providing a secluded retreat, as well as easy access to all amenities. There are two lodging spaces – the modern Studio Suite and the rustic Off-Grid Cabin.
Our personal residence is beside the Studio Suite but guests have their own entrance and complete privacy. The Off-Grid Cabin is on the lower part of our property away from the main residence. All guests have the sense of freedom to enjoy the area in their own personal way:

Get closer to nature by taking a walk through the trees using the pathways in the forest.
Use our canoe or kayaks to explore the shoreline – just a few minutes walk from your doorstep!

Located in the West Kootenay area, we are close to several hot springs facilities that are open year-round. Besides relaxing in the hot springs, many other activities are available to travelers. The magnificent natural location provides an ideal setting for outdoor adventures, with hiking and biking trails in the area.
Arrow Lake Escape is designed to meet the needs of most travellers by providing excellent lodging, friendly service, and an enriching experience.
Studio Suite
$200 per night
This separate 550 square foot private facility sleeps up to 4-people. There is a queen bed as well as a queen-sized sofa bed. Make your own meals in the fully equipped kitchen or outdoors on your own bar-be-que. All dishes, pots, pans as well as numerous small appliances are included. The bathroom has a large shower with a seat and includes all linens, soaps, and shampoos. Guests enjoy free wi-fi as well as cable TV, a DVD player, and several puzzles. The owners live in a separate house located nearby and are readily available to ensure that your stay at Arrow Lakes Escape is all you hope it will be.
Off-Grid Cabin
$200 per night
There are two rooms in the cabin – the outer room has large windows which provide amazing views of the Arrow Lakes.The inner room has sleeping and cooking facilities, as well as a woodburning stove. There is also a small bathroom attached to this room with a composting toilet and a sink. Relax on the private deck of the cabin – there is a propane BBQ provided as well as eating areas.The owners live in a separate house located nearby and are readily available to ensure that your stay at Arrow Lakes Escape is all you hope it will be.

Kayaks, Paddle-Board & Canoes
We have two kayaks and a canoe available for your use here at Arrow Lake Escape. In addition, the town has places where you can rent paddleboards.
Bike, Hike & Walk
Two peddle bikes are freely available at Arrow Lake Escape for your use. For those who prefer a bit more power, there are also 2-electric bikes available for a small fee. The Nakusp area has an abundance of hiking trails to suit all levels of fitness...

Restaurants, Markets & Shopping
Nakusp boasts some delightful boutiques and gift stores, as well as a pharmacy, grocery stores, and banking. In the summertime, we have an outdoor Saturday Farmers Market with local artisans, growers and musicians creating a fun and festive atmosphere. There are a number of resaturants in the town that cater to all tastes
Winter Outdoor Activities
Lots of opportunities for outdoor adventure during winter - groomed cross country ski trails close by, many trails to snowshoe in the area, and downhill skiing 20-minutes away at the Summit Lake ski area.

Laurie and Barend (aka Woody) recently moved to Nakusp after selling Woody's Bakery that they ran for 30-years in Vanderhoof. Besides being retired bakers, Laurie is a teacher and is currently subbing in School District 10. Woody hails from the Netherlands and can speak fluent Dutch, and can get by in German. They both love the outdoors and this new adventure of being your hosts in the beautiful West Kootenays.
